ISBNspy.com - Spy on your Stuff (the tagline used to be 'Spy on your Books' till one of my users posted a note about his success at looking up DVDS, CDs, and all kinds of other things on this site. If it has an ISBN, you'll find it with ISBNspy.com)

During my last year at the University of Hawai'i I attended a Design for Mobile Devices course. The final project of the course required us to ruminate on a problem that would be solved by a location based device. We were given the entire semester to come up with a problem and a mobile application that offered a solution.
I decided to focus on the problem of book prices. Everytime I'd go to a bookstore and buy a book, I wonder if it was cheaper on Amazon.com. I decided that I'd create a mobile webservice that allowed anyone with an internet enabled mobile phone to access Amazon.com and look up a book price. I formatted all returned content to fit on the small mobile screen. I also steamlined the mobile's interaction with the server to ensure that the returned information was small in file size.
Go to www.isbnspy.com with your mobile phone and try it today!

PROJECT UPDATE (May 25, 2007):
This week I added support for a mechanism to list the last 7 searches performed on ISBNspy.com. I like it. Its much easier to gauge who has used the site. The next thing I would like to do for the site is to add support for listing the New York Times Bestsellers. Or even childrens books :)
PROJECT UPDATE (May 29, 2007):
Reformatted menu options so the display is clearer. Hoping to integrate NYT Bestsellers list. Hoping to integrate book summaries soon. Will transition over to PHP 5 soon. very soon.
PROJECT UPDATE (August 8, 2007):
Started delineating between desktop users and mobile users of the site. The mobile version still offers the slimmed down, simplified markup that allows the page to load quickly and keep data costs down. While the desktop version features more images, hit tracking, and now a cluster map:
